What I’m Loving Lately 73

Image
Hey, hey! Happy Friday, friends! It’s that’s time again. Time for another edition of What I’m Loving Lately and it’s an especially fun round-up this week. Enjoy!! Stranger Things – OMG. This show. OBSESSED. Some friends recently recommended it to Mal and me and now we’re totally hooked. I’m not usually into sci-fi stuff, but Stranger Things reminds me a lot of The Goonies mixed with ET and the most amazing teen 80s movies. Man, it’s SO GOOD. Bathing suit clearance –  Now that it’s end of the season, I’m stocking up on suits for next year and the prices are awesome! Some favorites: Mossimo Crochet High Neck Halter as well as this Stripped Mesh Halter . I also love these two suits . There are so many great options, I can’t decide! Cappuccino Overnight Oats – Holy yum! I definitely want to try this recipe! Ramen Broccoli Slaw with Shrimp – Love, love, love this recipe! I can’t wait to make it again! How to Use Up a Batch of Fresh Tomatoes

Image
Save your canned tomatoes and jarred sauces for winter, when ripe-off-the-vine tomatoes are impossible to come by. Now that we’re in the height of summer, we’re taking every opportunity to consume this ruby-red fruit in its freshest forms, and preferably the same day we buy it (or shortly thereafter). Whether you get your tomatoes from the grocery store, the farmers market or your own garden, these healthy recipes will inspire you to use this essential summer ingredient in smooth soups, hearty salads and more. Here are just a few of our favorite applications. Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes If you can get your hands on some heirloom tomatoes — or better yet, if they’re growing in your garden — put them to use in Food Network Magazine’s easy summer appetizer. Each tomato is stuffed with a salty cube of feta cheese. Bruschetta with Tomato and Basil Rachael Ray rubs toasted baguette slices with garlic before piling on her fresh tomato-basil topping. Primal Performance: How to Stay Cool Under Pressure

Image
Think for a minute about how many times you felt pressure today—pressure to do something you were nervous to do, pressure to perform in the moment, pressure to make the right choice, pressure to take a big step toward a change or experience you want in your life? What was it like? I find pressure to be an intriguing concept. It certainly feels stressful, but it’s ultimately more than stress. Whereas stress at its core is really just a state of physical and/or emotional strain (generally in response to what we somehow perceive as challenging circumstances), it’s initially a response versus a force (but can become a force when chronic ). As a result, stress is most essentially a reaction we can at times avoid or use any range of strategies to minimize or manage. Pressure, on the other hand, is more of an input, a force not just acting in us but on us, influencing and compelling us toward action, much like the concept in physics. The pressure we experience may come from outside expectati
