Hi, guys! It’s finally nap time here, so I just wanted to pop in with a quick recap of our morning.
Quinn’s school is closed today (they’re without power), so we had a fun “gym day” together. Early this morning, when I asked him if he was excited for our upcoming adventures, his response was: “Gym days make me crazy, crazy happy!” I mean, is that not the cutest thing ever? 🙂 I love that Quinn loves gym days as much I as do!
Breakfast this morning was Pumpkin + Chia Overnight Oats from Daily Harvest, who makes all sorts of awesome frozen overnight oats, smoothies, and soups delivered right to your front door. The brand sent me some samples awhile back, and I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned them on CNC yet. They’re so darn good! I love that they’re made from wholesome (and interesting!) ingredients and how convenient they are – just grab one from the freezer, prep (add water or almond milk), and you’re good to go!
After breakfast, Quinn and I headed to the gym. He brought along his new favorite toy – a flameless remote control candle from our powerless Friday night. He’s been obsessed with it ever since. He even took it to bed with him last night. Ha!
When my friend Natalie arrived to class, she gave me some Big Sexy Hair Powder Play (aka “hair boogers”), which is the most amazing volumizer ever. You just sprinkle a little onto your dry hair and then use your fingers to work it in – and just like that you have instant volume. Check out my New Year’s Eve hair to see it in action, but it’s also great for everyday hair that just needs to be washed/styled. It’s seriously THE BEST.
This morning’s CrossFit workout was a fun one with some of my favorite movements. It took me about 15 minutes to finish, which included a quick intermission to take Quinn to the bathroom. #momduty
After CrossFit, Quinn and I headed to Rosa Farms for a smoothie/coffee date with a couple of our friends. We also stopped in to see Clover, the bunny.
Quinn ordered a “vanilla smoothie,” which was made with peanut butter and banana. He lovvvved it and drank the whole thing! 🙂
I ordered the “Tree Chugger” to which I added SFH vanilla protein powder. The combo was incredible – basically dessert!
We had never been before, but it was definitely a fun kid thing that we’ll visit again. Qman had a blast! And it was only $8! 🙂
By the time we got home, Quinn and I were both starving for lunch. I whipped up a quick meal for him (pita, hummus, and apple slices) and then threw together a bunch of leftovers from the fridge for myself. On the menu: Cauliflower cheese pizza (from Trader Joe’s – not recommended), roasted veggies (Brussels sprouts, fennel, carrots), and arugula with Parmesan, sunflower seeds, and balsamic vinaigrette. There wasn’t an ounce of meat in this meal, but still came in at 25g of protein!
