I’m partnering again with Kristin from Thrive by Food, but, this time, we’re working to help balance my wacky hormones. Cliff Notes: I took hormonal birth control (the pill) for 15 years, gave birth to Quinn, and then things just weren’t right after that, so I stopped all forms of hormonal birth control about a year ago.
Since then, my body has been all over the place with regard to symptoms – some months better, some months worse than others. I’ve struggled with everything from acne and mood swings to fatigue and night sweats and more.
I tried seed cycling for about 9 months and really loved it. I saw so many improvements with regard to my hormones and overall wellness. Really, I thought seeds were magical ! But then the seeds stopped working. I was no longer experiencing the hormonal “balance” I had in the past, and a number of old symptoms started to pop up again. My periods also started to get somewhat irregular.
I always knew seed cycling was just a “nudge” in the right direction with regard to a woman’s hormones and it definitely improved things for me overall, but it didn’t completely fix all of my issues – and that’s why Kristin and I are teaming up!
I want to share my experience working with a functional practioner related to hormones, testing, and all that good stuff, so keep your eyes peeled for new content. A bunch of you guys have inquired about my hormonal experiences, so I thought this would be the perfect way to share and help you guys!
On Wednesday this week (July 18th at 3:30 PM EST), Kristin and I hope to set the stage for some of my personal hormones issues (and maybe yours too!) with a live session on Instagram. We’re going to chat about hidden symptoms of hormone imbalance and take live questions from those who attend.
