My Gift to You: 24 Days of Togetherness Download

I am so excited to share this fun holiday gift with you guys! If you’re a long-time follower, you probably remember our family’s annual “24 Days of Togetherness” tradition. I can’t believe this is our 7th year doing it! Boy, how time flies! If you’re unfamiliar, here’s a little backstory.

Basically, “24 Days of Togetherness” is a holiday bucket list. It started with just Mal and me (and Murphy) and has extended to Quinn and more family-orientated activities. The holiday seasons always flies by, so I wanted to find a way to really enjoy it together.

In the past, we made our own little kit with slips of paper where we would write our holiday activities to “complete” each day. I decided to take the work out of “24 Days of Togetherness” by turning the slips of paper into a pretty PDF that you can simply cut and pick and choose the activities that you want to do. No need to brainstorm activities! There are 4 pages of holiday-inspired activities with a few extra blank slips where you can write your own. Full instructions are included in the download, but it’s pretty straight-forward! 😉

Make your “24 Days of Togetherness” kit now, so you’re ready when the fun begins on December 1st!

I hope you enjoy this little gift from me to you! And, of course, feel free to share this blog post with family and friends!

What I’m Loving Lately 128

Hi, guys!

I can’t believe it’s already Thursday – the week has FLOWN by for me. I have a new project in the works, and I’m so excited to share it with all of you. There was a “soft launch” last week with some nutrition clients trying it out and providing feedback, so I hope to launch it to the public in the coming weeks. I’m seriously so pumped about it! 🙂 Anyway… I know you guys love a good What I’m Loving Lately blog post (and I do too!), so let’s get right into it!

Matching holiday pajamas from Target – When these matching holiday pajamas popped up in my Facebook feed, I was ALL about them! I mean, there’s matching DOG pajamas too. I waited a couple of days to actually purchase them, and a lot of the styles are already SOLD OUT. Ughhh! I ended up buying the ones below, so if you’re interested in matching pajamas for your family (AND pets) from Target, be sure to hop on it sooner than later!

Chemicals in beauty products could harm women’s fertility or cause breast cancer, new study finds – The takeaway from this study is that we may need to be careful about the chemicals in the beauty and personal care products we use, which is why I’m such a supporter of Beautycounter, its products, and mission. If you want to learn more about Beautycounter and stay in the loop about deals and promos, be sure to sign up for my email list!

Yanekop Womens Sherpa Pullover Fuzzy Fleece Sweatshirt – Can we talk about this pullover? NEED. I feel like this is something I would wear every.single.day. It looks SO COZY, and I’m such a baby when it comes to winter. Bonus: It’s priced right at just $18!

FREE Self-Care Guide to Balanced Hormones – This was AWESOME! It’s from Magdalena Wszelaki, who I’ve blogged about in the past – if you’re not on her email list, make sure you sign up!

Doublju Basic Thin Pullover Hoodie Kangaroo Hoodie – Loving this hoodie! And it’s only $21 and comes in 15 different colors. Sign me up!

Why Am I Always Hungry, Even After I Eat? – What does it mean if you frequently find yourself wondering, “Why am I always hungry?” It could point to leptin resistance, a problem that can be addressed with simple diet changes.

Overnight Resurfacing Peel – I’ve shared this product a couple of times on the blog, but it is seriously a-mazing. It’s probably the best product that Beautycounter makes, and it’s truly changed my skin in the past few weeks!

Asvivid Women’s Chunky Turtle Cowl Neck Asymmetric Wrap Sweater – I know that I just blogged about this sweater the other day, but it deserves another mention. I’m obsessed!

Getting Rid of Cellulite Is Tough. But Here’s What Works Best – This was an interesting article!

UA Breathe Lace Women’s Sneakers – I am so IN LOVE with these sneakers. They’re so pretty, right? I picked Ivory and Metallic Faded Gold, but there are also 5 other color (beautiful) combos to choose from. I’ve been wearing them a ton for the walk challenge – and what can I say, when I’m wearing cute sneakers it motivates me to move more!

Why You Should Think Twice About Vegetarian and Vegan Diets – Great article from Chris Kresser. He doesn’t bash vegetarian or vegan diets; he just points out that nutrient deficiency is a huge issue.

Question of the Day

Does your family do the matching holiday pajama thing?

It’s a first for the Hauperts!

The Healthiest Vanilla Protein Powder Is Now Available!

Earlier this year when my new company Truvani launched our Chocolate Plant-Based Protein Powder, the #1 thing people asked me was, “When will you make Vanilla?”

I couldn’t have agreed more. I really WANTED a vanilla protein powder too.

And, I’m so excited to let you know that vanilla is now available!

If you’re wondering why it took us a little while to come out with this vanilla version, let me share some behind-the-scenes of what it took to make this product…

You see, just like all Truvani products, we wanted to create the best tasting organic plant-based protein powder with the CLEANEST ingredients. We focus on using real whole food to make our products and we weren’t sure if we could pull it off for Vanilla. There were two reasons why:

The price of Vanilla Bean – how you get the “real” taste of vanilla – skyrocketed, and we were worried that it would force us to charge too much for a Vanilla Plant-Based Protein Powder.

Most other brands would use “natural flavors” to get a vanilla flavor at a fraction of the cost. We refuse to cut corners like that!  We’d have to use the real stuff – vanilla bean. And that would drive the price of the product up too much.

We weren’t sure if people would like the “real” taste of vanilla. As we started to share our Vanilla Protein Powder with people, they kept saying: “It tastes great. But it’s not the vanilla I’m used to…”

And they were right. It wasn’t a vanilla “natural flavor” engineered in a laboratory. It was Vanilla Bean… or as we like to call it… real vanilla.

However, back in September we had a big breakthrough.

The person in charge of product formulation sent me a sample. I opened it, I smelled it and was immediately overcome by the aromatic scent of real vanilla. I couldn’t believe it – it smelled so good!

As I mixed it into water, and took the first sip… I knew we had a winner.

It smelled great.

It tasted great.

It’s awesome.

It’s only made with 5 simple ingredients: Organic Pea Protein, Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein, Organic Chia Seeds, Organic Vanilla Powder, Organic Monk Fruit. (Yes, that’s it!)

I’m sure you’ll love it to…

And, I’m so confident that you will that we have a “love the taste guarantee.” You can try it, and if you don’t love it, email our support team and we’ll issue you a refund.

The best part?

We pushed back on our ingredient suppliers so that we’d be able to offer this REAL VANILLA organic protein powder at a reasonable price (this also allowed us to LOWER the price on our chocolate protein powder. Amazing right?)

Truvani’s VANILLA Plant Based Protein Powder will ship the week of November 19, 2018 and is available to order now…

I can’t wait to hear what you think of our new Vanilla Plant Based Protein!

I’m as Surprised as You Are

Guys, I took a yoga class yesterday! (I know, I’m as surprised as you are!)

And it was 60 minutes long!

AND I didn’t leave midway through due to boredom! 🙂

I’m generally not a fan of yoga, but I kind of liked the class that I took yesterday and might even go again. We did a few stretches that I definitely needed, so it might be motivation to keep with it. My upper back and hips are insanely tight – to the point where they’re bothering me while doing everyday activities, like walking, sitting, bending, etc., which is just not good for someone who is only 38 years old. Ugghh, getting old it hard.

Anyway, after yoga class and playtime at the YMCA with Quinn, we headed to Blend, a new smoothie/shake shop in South Weymouth. I saw a post about it on Instagram the other day, so I wanted to see what it was all about.

Blend was super cute inside and the employees were all really nice. The shakes were DELICIOUS, but the ingredients were just okay, so it was more of a treat. (They’re made from Herbalife products.) Quinn and I shared a birthday cake shake with sprinkles, which we both loved. We’ll definitely visit again!

The hospital was basically right next door to Blend, so Quinn and I popped into the outpatient lab, so I could have blood drawn for MORE tests. I’m still coughing up phlegm every day (it’s quite glamorous), and all of the tests we’ve done so far have said zero about what is causing it. Hopefully, this round of testing will tell us something. Quinn was super patient during our visit, so the nurse gave him a couple of Ninja Turtle stickers, which he was beyond excited about! 🙂 He actually brought them to school today to share with his best bud, Blake.

After that, we headed to the library to return books and pick out new ones. We also got a DVD, which is Quinn’s newest obsession. He loves perusing the DVDs at the library. He doesn’t quite understand that pretty much all of them are on Netflix or Hulu – he just thinks they’re super cool! Thankfully, Mal’s Playstation (?) plays DVDs. Do people even own DVD players nowadays?

After a busy morning, we headed home for lunch. On the menu for me: Salmon Caesar Salad – basically, canned salmon on top of mixed greens with Primal Kitchen Caesar Dressing. Lunch doesn’t get easier than this! 🙂

I also had a piece of avocado toast with Everything But the Bagel Seasoning. Delish!

Question of the Day

What are your thoughts about yoga? Love it? Hate it? Boring AF? 🙂

Do you own a DVD player?
