Primal Provisioning For Staying Home

Image
How’s everyone doing out there? I hope you are all doing your best to protect your health, including your mental health. These are wild times to say the least. I don’t know what it is like in your neck of the woods. Where I live, a lot of people saw the writing on the wall at the end of last week and prepared to self-quarantine. Stores were suddenly packed as people stocked up with the necessary supplies to stay home for several weeks. (Yes, and dozens of rolls of paper towels and toilet paper, too.) I’m sure many of you have already put recommended social distancing policies into place. If you haven’t stocked your homes with supplies that will allow you to avoid going out as much as possible, now’s the time. I’m going to focus on prepping your kitchen today. Don’t forget the other parts, though: prescription and over-the-counter medicines, basic hygiene (soap, laundry detergent), pet food . How Much Do I Really Need? That’s hard to say. Shift In Mindset For Better Mothering

I’ve been reflecting on ways to make boring days a little more purposeful. With a shift in mindset, I’m trying to fill my days with intention. I finished the post before our world was turned upside down by this virus, so if it all seems a little irrelevant right now, that is why! I hope we can all get back to routine sooner rather than later.  Shift in Mindset: “Boring” Days Make Up Our Lives I was listening to a podcast recently (probably Jenna Kutcher’s !) and the person she was interviewing said something to the tune of  “These days that are passing by – they make up our lives.” So often I think about life as the collection of years that include fun memories – trips, special events, highlights. But really, it’s seemingly “boring” days that make up the majority of our lives. I’ve been doing some reflecting lately on ways to make boring days a little more purposeful. I’m privileged that I have a choice in how I spend my time. I love my job and I love being a mom. Sometimes I fee

Green Lemonade Recipe (Leprechaun Lemonade)

This green lemonade is a deliciously simple way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day while getting a little good nutrition at the same time! As I type this, we are starting to look at hunkering down in our area. Things are starting to get a bit crazy with everything going on in the world right now and I imagine that with kids staying home from school and parents having to stay home from work to care for them, things are about to get even crazier. But in my experience, it’s best to keep things as normal as possible during difficult times. Especially for kids! So this delicious drink will help you celebrate St. Patrick’s day while giving your body a small amount of good nutrition at the same time, with minimal ingredients. The kids will love it! WHAT IS GREEN LEMONADE? Well, in this case, it’s lemonade that has spinach in it for coloring. But don’t worry, it tastes like lemonade! You will need a high powered blender, unless you don’t mind a few actual specks of spinach in your drink.
