This & That
This face . This was the face I got the whole drive home from Bald Head. Pouty McPouters. (The only thing that saved me was the fact that he knew he was going to California to visit KK the next day!)
So we had popsicles (really just Siggi’s kids yogurt tubes frozen – the best trick ever!) and he was all smiles again. I covered him in hugs and kisses before he set off on his next summer adventure!
This song. It was on my Spotify Discover Weekly (shout out to Spotify!!), and I ran down the stairs to find out more. It’s actually a religious song, and is one of the top Christian hits of all time. I’m not religious, but I interpret the the lyrics as romantic love.
This sandwich. I rarely eat sandwiches anymore, but I made this for the ride home from the beach. Mustard, turkey, cheese and pickle. (It wouldn’t be nearly as good without the pickle!)
Next, this cake. Hillary had leftovers from her wedding and brought some over for Survivor night!! Boy, was that an exciting Tuesday!
This nut butter! The Wild Friends girls sent me the new addition to their line-up. They’ve added protein to a few of their nut butter flavors for an additional boost. These guys contain 50% more protein than traditional peanut and almond butter, for those of you looking to get more protein in your meals and snacks – each 2 tbsp serving has 12 grams of protein. Wild Friends uses high-quality, hormone free, non-GMO whey protein with a simple ingredient list, and you can find the new flavors at 450 Target stores across the country. Check out their store locator to see if you can buy it near you.
This rice bowl from our new juice bar in town, The Juice Place. I loved the seaweed, hearty shiitakes, and savory tahini sauce!
This spinach. It’s ready for pickin’!!!
This dinner. Proof that I do eat cereal for dinner from time to time. (Like when I came home from soccer at 9:00 p.m. and had no energy or desire to spend any time cooking!)
This dinner. Proof that yes, I do still cook Organic butcher herby chicken, cheesy grits from the rice cooker, and wilted garlicky spinach from the garden.
This mess. It’s not throw-up, just oatmeal for breakfast!!
This local news. If you live near Cville, you’ll want to bid on one of these auction listings from the Charlottesville 29! All proceeds go to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, plus you’ll have the chance to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The auction items are rolling out once a day for 30 days. Check them out!
And lastly, this parade of pancakes. I made a huge batch and M and I ate them for days!!
Have a great summertime weekend!
