Mazen’s 4th Birthday

Mazen (1 of 1)-25

If you were turning four what would you request? We planned a day full of his favorites: popsicles for his class party, Citizen Burger for lunch, birthday cake ice cream for a treat, and pizza for dinner. Plus a handful of presents he has been talking about for months!

I made him this birthday week calendar so he could keep track of all the fun things going on. We’re celebrating some more this weekend with grandparents, and a party with his friends!

We caught Sylvia as they were leaving school. These two love each other so much!

After school, Matt and I took him downtown for lunch. He rode his bike all the way there!

Despite the giant bowl of sweet potato fries in front of him, he was a bit grumpy. We think in retrospect he was just hot! I don’t get why kids can’t just say “I’m hot.” Instead he grumped and complained about being out to lunch and perked up when we had ice cream for dessert.

We walked back to Matt’s to see his new Star Wars legos!

And then to my house to open more presents. Batman all day over here!! He’s been talking about this Bat Bot for ages. It’s remote controlled, transforms, and plays all kinds of sounds. I also got him these figurines and a Nerf blaster. #boytoys

We had homemade pizza for dinner topped with his favorites: mushrooms, peppers, pepperoni, and spinach. I used a pre-made dough from Whole Foods, and it was delicious!

I spent some time re-reading my birth story, and looking at newborn photos of Mazen.
