Bring Blue Apron To Your Holiday Table

If you’re looking for something unique to bring to a holiday gathering this year, consider a Blue Apron box for inspiration! Especially if you have family in town over the holidays, all the more reason to cook up a recipe together. I enjoy Blue Apron the most when I divide and conquer a recipe or two with friends.

While most Blue Apron recipes are intended to be served as gourmet dinners for two people or family-style for four, many of the recipes also make great appetizers (the empanadas!) or side dishes. This year they are offering special Thanksgiving Side Kits just for this purpose! I don’t know about you, but the last place I want to go during Thanksgiving week is the grocery store – skip the long lines and let your ingredients come to you.

This latest Blue Apron dish – Spiced Cauliflower & Jasmine Rice with Poblano Pepper & Cilantro-Yogurt Sauce – was one of my all-time favorites! And as a vegetarian dish, I thought it would make an excellent addition to any holiday table.

The ingredients were all so GREEN! (So fresh and so green, yo.)

Check out this beauty of a cauliflower.

This recipe was simple to make, yet full of flavor. The cauliflower was cooked once in a skillet, then tossed in rice flour and a spice blend, and returned to the skillet for a second session to crisp it up.

Boy, did that sweet chili sauce make the recipe! That’s an ingredient I would not otherwise have had on hand, and I want to hunt some more down!

The spiced vegetables were served with crunchy roasted cashews, nutty jasmine rice, and a cool cilantro-yogurt sauce that I could not get enough of.

This dish was great as a light dinner (and even better for lunch the next day!), but as a side dish at this year’s Friendsgiving I know it will be a hit as well.

With Blue Apron you can sign up to have all of your fresh ingredients to be delivered right to your doorstop – always with free shipping – and chef-inspired recipes ready to make a date night or a dinner party a huge success. Blue Apron has made me a better cook, and so many of their recipes have been hits. We make this Blue Apron meatloaf all the time, and we’ve re-made their pizza, their panko salmon, the potatoes in the fish recipe in this post, and a handful of other recipes several times. If you haven’t yet, give it a try for $30 off! The first 25 readers to sign up here will get the discount.
