Favor Traditions with Godiva

I’m excited to tell you about the new line of chocolates from Godiva called Masterpieces that I took to Bald Head Island to share with my family. This range has the most delicious trio of flavors and they made great favors on our dinner table.

There are three flavors that come individually wrapped in the bag. The Milk Chocolate Lion of Belgium is filled with creamy caramel – perfect for you caramel lovers. The Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Oyster has a nutty hazelnut praline filling. And finally, the Dark Chocolate Ganache Heart is my favorite – tried and true dark chocolate ganache!

My grandmother (my mom’s mom) hosted Christmas for many years. Every season she had little favors at the table – a holiday popper, little candies, paper crowns, ornaments, and other trinkets that we cousins loved. Her surprise favors always turned a meal into a party. We loved the anticipation of peeking to see what was at our place setting followed by the excitement of finally getting to open it. My mom has continued the tradition with favors at many of her holiday tables, particularly for the grandchildren.

A few weeks ago we got to spend time at our new family vacation home on Bald Head Island. Since it was our first visit since my parents bought the house, I decided that I would be in charge of favors for dinner the first night we were there to make it extra special.

This was the perfect opportunity to showcase the Godiva Masterpieces! First I found some seashells to put at each place setting. I set the table and dressed up the corner of each spot.

I chose the Godiva Masterpieces Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Oysters because of the beach theme (of course!) : ) They paired well with the shells and these tiny petite poppers I found online that were filled with riddles and jokes.

I also prepared some conversation starters to keep us talking long after the meal was over.

That evening we lit candles, put meatloaf and sweet potato fries in the oven, and poured some wine.

Everyone loved the chocolates! I told them all after my blog post prep was done we could dip into the extra bags – and enjoy them we did!

These individually wrapped treats are perfect for a little everyday indulgence. I often have a piece of chocolate after lunch or dinner, and I love that these have portion control within the wrapper! : )

Once exclusive to Godiva boutiques, the Godiva Masterpieces are now available wherever you shop every day: Target, Kroger, Publix, CVS, and Walmart for $3.99 for a bag.

What are your favorite dinner party favors? Which Godiva Masterpiece chocolate speaks to you?
