Apple Picking on the South Shore, Massachusetts

Hi, guys! Happy Tuesday to you!

On Saturday afternoon, our little family went apple picking at C.N. Smith Farm in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and, as expected, we had quite the nice time. We visited for the first time last year, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much it had to offer. It’s definitely our go-to place for family fall fun now! 🙂

First up, of course, was apple picking. There were only a few varieties ready for picking (Macintosh, Macoun, Honey Crisp), but they were some of our favorites, so we headed into the orchard and got right to work!

Of course, we needed to sample a few apples right off the trees! 🙂

On the way out of the orchard, Quinn and I snapped this photo. He really liked the idea of being a “good apple!” Haha!

After apple picking, we visited the farm store, which was a short drive from the orchard. The farm store might actually be Quinn’s favorite part of C.N. Smith Farm because there’s an entire room devoted to Halloween decorations and other creepy stuff – like mechanical spiders with light-up eyes and cackling witches that jump out at you when you walk by. Quinn loves anything related to Halloween, so we spent quite awhile inside checking out everything. I also had a chance to pursue all of the delicious seasonal food items – everything from caramel apples and pie to fresh corn and squashes. The farms store even had quite the selection of jarred goodies, including salsas, jams, spreads, hot sauces, and more. I didn’t end up buying anything, but I could have seriously done some damage!

After spending some time in the farm store, we headed outside again to get cider donuts and apple cider, which were obviously a necessity for a family fall fun day! 🙂

We took our donuts and cider to enjoy on a hayride around the farm. It was quite the nice ride with treats in hand! 🙂

It was such a nice way to spend the day with my boys, especially after not seeing them for 8 days. And, of course, we love all things fall, so we were very happy to enjoy all of the activities available at the farm.

Question of the Day

What are your thoughts on apple picking? Love it? Think it’s a waste of money?

I had a friend who refused to go apple picking because it’s so expensive, but you pay for the experience, right? I love apple picking! 🙂

P.S. Did you go apple picking recently and have one million apples to eat? Make THIS RECIPE for apple crisp! It’s seriously THE BEST. I actually made 3 batches on Sunday afternoon!
