The Friday 5

Hi, guys! Happy Friday to you! πŸ™‚

I’m excited to share this new blog feature with you! It’s a spin on my What I’m Loving Lately, but a bit more concise and to the point. Since I know we’re all short for time – myself included – I wanted to cut to the chase and share my top 5 favorites from the week. (Five is also my lucky number, so I figured it was perfect for a blog post!) So, without further ado, here’s my Friday 5!

1. Magnetic lashes

Oooooh, yes. These babies are life-changing and truly the coolest beauty product I own right now. The nice folks from One Two Cosmetics sent me a pair of their Founder’s Lashes to try out, and I’m in lovvvvveee. I’ve already told just about every woman in my life about them, and I can’t wait to share with you guys too!

The lashes use micro-magnetic technology to attach to your natural lashes to create a bold, dramatic lash line in seconds. No need for (annoying) fake lashes or (expensive) extensions!

The lashes come with a handy-dandy applicator that makes applying them so simple – it honestly takes like 30 seconds to apply them. You attach the lashes to the applicator, hold it up to your lashes, press lightly, and listen for a tiny (magnetic) click to know that your lashes are in place. The lashes look long, thick, and totally natural – not at all fake and ridiculous like some artificial lashes. And the “budge-proof” magnetic technology secures your lashes until you’re ready to remove them, which takes like two seconds. (I just pull them off with my fingers.)

Long story short, I’m totally obsessed and have worn these lashes non-stop since getting them. They’re so easy to apply you can wear them every day – not just for special occasions! If you’re interest in trying a pair for yourself, you can save 10% with code TINA10!

2. The “driving test”

I shared this on Instagram last week, but it’s worth another mention because I’ve been thinking a lot about my mood lately. I’m still surprised by how much things have changed in recent months! πŸ™‚

Long drives = lost in thoughts, at least for me. My mind kind of goes into autopilot, and I often find myself running through my to-do list, making mental notes of what I have accomplished and what still needs to be done. Sometimes I get so into the zone that I start stressing about stuff that’s weeks away, and by the time I reach my destination I’m just a ball of anxiety. But lately, I’ve found myself thinking only happy thoughts while driving, which has taken me by surprise. Maybe it’s the CBD oil I’ve been trying out or the fact that we’ve been eating eating more of a plant-based diet, but whatever it is, it’s making me weirdly… happy!

Something I’ve come to realize is that while worrying in general is pretty pointless, worrying when you can’t actually do anything to make changes is even worse, and I was literally putting myself in that situation by obsessing about my never-ending to-do list while trapped in a car. Ughhh!

I’m definitely loving this positive change in my mood, and I’m going to make a conscious effort (especially with the new year on the horizon) to maintain this upward trend. It’s so refreshing and such a mental break to have my mind freed up to just chill and enjoy the drive rather than be bogged down with stressful thoughts. I can’t pinpoint exactly what’s causing it, but whatever it is, I’ll take it!

3. Brandless

I just placed my 3rd order with Brandless, so I wanted to give you guys a little update. This is not sponsored – I actually first learned about Brandless on Instagram, but it’s definitely right up my alley!

Brandless sells “better-for-you” quality products (i.e. non-GMO, organic, gluten-free) and makes them more widely accessible and affordable for everyone. They have direct relationships with their suppliers and customers, which eliminates all of the extra costs associated with inefficient and unnecessary markups. Nothing is more than $3, and every time you check out at Brandless, a meal is donated to someone facing hunger. Amazing, right?

And if you place an order, you can get $9 credited to your account using my (affiliate) link. How’s THAT for awesome?! We’re definitely big fans and will continue to order from Brandless!

4. 30-Day Minimalism Game

With the new year just around the corner, I’m loving this idea! Here’s how it works…

Find a friend or family member: someone who’s willing to get rid of their excess stuff. This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day.

It’s an easy game at first. However, it starts getting challenging by week two when you’re both jettisoning more than a dozen items each day. Whoever can keep it going the longest wins; you both win if you can make it all month. Bonus points if you play with more than two people.

Mal and I are thinking about playing together as a team – starting January 1st. I think this would be such an awesome way (and kind of fun) to purge some of the junk in our lives!

5. Medical Medium

Ok, you guys are going to think I’m nuts (and maybe I am), but after like 20 readers/followers told me about Anthony Williams (aka the “Medical Medium”), I just couldn’t ignore him anymore. I started by listening to his podcasts and then went onto his books – and what he says is truly fascinating. It’s totally out there (Mal makes fun of me every time I mention it), but even one of my doctors said some of what Anthony says is spot on.

I dunno… and I know it’s insane, but when you have an incurable chronic disease and you’re still sick, you’ll try just about anything. I wanted to share for those of you who are open to it.
