The Skincare Product I Can’t Stop Talking About [Resurfacing Peel Review]

I’ve professed my love for the Overnight Resurfacing Peel from Beautycounter at least 3 or 4 times already on CNC because, well, I just can’t stop talking about it – clearly, online, but also to friends and family in real life. It’s truly made my skin glow and has helped big time with dullness, scars, and pore size. The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is, for sure, a product that I plan to use for a very long time!

FYI: Beautycounter makes a travel-size Overnight Resurfacing Peel if you’re interested in giving it a try before committing to the full-size product!

When I switched to Beautycounter’s skincare products (here’s my skincare routine), I quickly saw my skin transform from meh/blah to much more even-toned and brighter overall (here are my before/after results using the rejuvenating line).

But in the past few months since adding in the Overnight Resurfacing Peel, I have seen a HUGE improvement in my skin’s appearance. While I wasn’t unhappy with my skin, I’ve started to notice how much better it looks – even without makeup! This makes me really happy because, at 38 years old, I’m no spring chicken, and I’ve struggled periodically with acne breakouts ever since I hit puberty.

In addition to improving the overall quality of my skin, I’ve noticed that the Overnight Resurfacing Peel makes my skin SO SOFT. I use it 2-3 times a week under my night cream, and I wake up with skin feeling, oh, so soft. I even make Mal touch my face because I’m always so blown away with how nice it feels! My skin tone is more even and brighter, and I’ve even noticed the pigmentation and acne scares on my face starting to fade. It’s so impressive!

I often receive messages from readers/followers, who want to switch to safer beauty products. I used to recommend a few favorites to start with, but, recently, I’ve cut to the chase and tell them to buy the Overnight Resurfacing Peel first. It really is a game-changer when it comes to dull skin, and you’ll notice a visible difference pretty much overnight. In my opinion, it’s THE BEST product that Beautycounter makes!

You guys probably already know this since it’s a Beautycounter product, but Overnight Resurfacing Peel is a MUCH safer option than most anti-aging serums and peels on the market, including retinol and other ingredients on the Never List.

Benefits of the Overnight Resurfacing Peel:

  • improves skin texture
  • minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines, and dark spots
  • doesn’t irritate or over-dry skin
  • clears away dull surface skin cells
  • soothes and nourishes skin

How to use the peel:

I recommend using it 2-4 times a week before applying your moisturizer and eye cream at night. I typically wait a few minutes before applying my moisturizer to allow the peel to really set in. I leave it on overnight and wake up to glowing skin! FYI: You don’t need to rinse off the peel, which makes it such an easy addition to your skin care routine! And, of course, you should always wear sunscreen, but especially if you’re using this product. I wear the Dew Skin tinted moisturizer daily since it has SPF 20 in it.

If you’re curious about switching to safer beauty products or you don’t have a skincare routine that you love, fill out this quick questionnaire, and I’ll help you out! I love chatting about this stuff! Or just send me a quick email at tina@carrotsncake.com.

Post Christmas Reds + Greens

Because there are no post-Christmas blues! I am ready to take down the tree, but Thomas said I have to keep it up until New Years this year. (Because last year I took the whole thing down and dragged it outside without telling him first – oops!) Actually we got it a week later this year, so I’m not totally sick of it yet.

We had a lovely rest-of-the-holiday yesterday. Thomas got me this great Yeti coffee mug and a Patagonia down coat for Christmas! Since having Birch I’m a convert to lidded coffee tumblers instead of a plain mug since it takes me longer to drink my coffee. I love the new Yeti and that it is short and squatty with a handle like a mug. I had a quick Daily Harvest smoothie for breakfast today (love the chai flavor!) with some homemade granola on top. (Granola recipe coming Friday!)

Yesterday little B slept the whole trip back to Cville. Look at that smile!!

We had Thomas’s dad’s famous Christmas Pizza for lunch. It’s spinach, beef, and cheese inside a deep dish pizza crust. I need to make this a KERF recipe to share – it’s so delicious!! Gimme all the end pieces.

We opened gifts and did Family Secret Santa #2! We use Elfster for both my family and T’s family. You can enter in everyone’s email address and it will draw for you so everyone can participate. It’s a great little site. I got a cozy pair of LL Bean bootie slippers that were on my list from T’s mom.

Elfster is just for the adults, so the kids got a bunch of great gifts. Mazen loves his new easel. And he opened a microscope and proclaimed “I love science!” That’s my boy : )

Gussie had been staying with his grandparents, and our car was as full as its ever been. I had to hold gifts on my lap during the ride home so Gus could fit!

Mazen opened a few gifts from Thomas and me, and then he went over to Matt’s for Christmas dinner and Santa round II (because Santa knows when you have two houses). T and I were thrilled to have a quiet night at home after all the chaos of Christmas and travel. We unpacked the car, ate more Christmas pizza, poured a little vino, put on our slippers, and watched half of The Holiday.

B slept great last night (I have a post on sleep coming soon) and I got in a quick treadmill workout this morning before T left for work. These days if all I have is 15 minutes I just try to run as fast as I can and make them the most efficient 15 minutes possible!

Lunch was more Christmas pizza – the last of it. Plus a big arugula salad with candied pecans, havarti, Caesar dressing, and red peppers.

B and I are hanging out till big brother and Thomas come home. No idea what’s for dinner – we either need to go to the grocery store or raid the freezer.
