Updates on Favorite Plant-Based Protein Powder + Life Coaching

Good morning! Happy Saturday to you! I hope you had an awesome July 4th holiday! Ours was really great – here’s a blog recap (with timestamps!) if you’re interested! 🙂

I’m going old school this morning with a food + lifestyle post like I used to write back in the day. On the menu: Two rice cakes (only one pictured) with Teddie peanut butter, cinnamon, and banana slices.

The other day, I actually had a complimentary life coaching call with Tyra Woodall that really helped me identify my passions as far as the blog and nutrition coaching go. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a coaching call, but it was super helpful and surpassed my expectations. Long story short, I hope to bring you guys more “day in the life” content and EASY recipes (related: make sure you’re on my newsletter list if you want my weekly “Throw-Together Meals” email). I also want to personally take on more one-on-one nutrition clients because I really love to help people make sense of all of the crazy/complicated diet and nutrition advice out there. Related: Our next Master Your Macros group starts on Monday, August 5th, and I’ll be taking on 15 new clients this round!

Ok, so I have an “official” stance on my favorite plant-based protein powder. After many weeks of trying at least a dozen different options, I’m happy to share that I really love Nuzest Smooth Vanilla Vegan Protein. I still use collagen in my morning iced coffee, but I’ll had a scoop of Nuzest as well (along with a splash of Nutpods), and it’s truly the most amazing flavor combo!

Nuzest is 100% plant-based, vegan-friendly, pea protein, dairy-free, gluten-free, GMO-free, and naturally sweetened. It settles a little in my iced coffee, but not as bad as some other plant-based protein powders. The actual powder is really soft and fluffy – not gritty like a lot of them – so I think that helps. The smooth vanilla flavor is sooooo tasty, and it’s what ultimately sold me. It’s not artificial-tasting at all – sweet and very smooth!

I also really love the Coffee Coconut + MCTs flavor and often mix it up in the morning. The main difference between the two protein powders is obviously the flavor, but they’re very similar nutritionally otherwise. The vanilla has 1 more gram of protein and a tiny bit (0.5g) less fat per serving, and the coffee coconut has magnesium and manganese while the vanilla doesn’t. The Coffee Coconut +MCTs also mixes well into my iced coffee. It’s similar to the Smooth Vanilla in the sense that the powder is light and fluffy and only settles a little bit. I just use a shaker to really mix it up and then just use my glass straw in my tumbler to stir it around every so often.

FYI: You can also find some single sample sizes on Amazon if you’d like to try it before committing to a whole tub. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the vanilla, but the coffee coconut and chocolate are available in sample sizes!

And… one more quick update! I received a few questions about the knot tank top I mentioned the other day. Here’s a photo below. I ordered it in a size small. It’s definitely a favorite this summer because I can easily dress it up or keep it casual.

Question of the Day

How do you take your coffee in the morning? What fun ingredients do you typically add?
