“[T]he one thing that centenarians all seem to have in common is an ability to roll with the punches and overcome adversity. It appears that this life skill to be able to move on after the loss of a loved one, a divorce, or the loss of a job is a particularly important strategy for living a long, happy, healthy, productive life. It’s about going with the flow, it’s about simply releasing attachment to the outcome. That doesn’t mean you don’t play hard. It doesn’t mean that you don’t get into a game and say, ‘I want to win this game.’ But it’s the idea that after it’s over, you move on with your life. No regrets. No ruing it. You simply move on.” ~ From Primal Connection , pg. 217 The post Primal Reflection Point: No Attachment To Outcome appeared first on Mark's Daily Apple . from Mark's Daily Apple http://ift.tt/2DmAMoN

^^He loves to snuggle. Although the other day he pawed me right in the face! I think he was trying to do a paw-to-handshake and got me on the cheek instead. I am lucky his little nails didn’t scratch me too badly! Both boys likes to be lap dogs *crying laughing emoji* This means that 99% of the time I have dog hair all over my yoga pants. Let’s talk about human hair! About a month ago I got a really bad haircut from a stylist in training. Think 90s-style chunky layers that were not well blended at all. It was basically a mullet on my right side. I could have gone back and had it all chopped off, but I just didn’t want to go that short, and when my hair was curled, in a ponytail or bun, or clipped back you couldn’t see it, so I’ve just been letting it grow out. I went to a new salon this week – Moxie Hair Lounge – at the recommendation of some of my friends, and I am on my way to having normal hair again. Between trimming off an inch and blending the layers, she was able to clo...

This post is sponsored by Red Diamond Coffee & Tea. In the warm months of the year I have no problem guzzling all kinds of liquids down. Not only am I thirstier, but when it’s 90 degrees it actually feels good to drink something cold! But, during this time of year I reallllly struggle with hydration. On the one hand I often feel dehydrated, but on the other hand it is painfully hard to get myself to drink anything other than hot coffee and tea when it’s cold outside. Those do count towards your hydration needs, but one can only drink so many hot beverages in a day. The ultimate choice for hydration is plain old water. There is no denying it, and it is the best choice. Hydration needs vary by person, so the “8 cups per day” rule really depends on your climate, activity level, and more. Your overall hydration needs include all beverages (even coffee and tea) and water extracted from food, like cucumber and watermelon. I think at least some of your daily intake should be p...

Once again, I’ve partnered with Wonderful Halos to bring you this blog post. Right now, the brand is hosting a “ Good Choice Challenge ” to encourage consumers to make good snacking choices by choosing Wonderful Halos over other traditional unhealthy snacks in order to lead a healthier lifestyle. Now that it’s the New Year and cleaning up our diets is on all of our minds, here are a bunch of snacks that you can quite literally take on-the-go. With a little bit of prep, healthy snacking doesn’t get easier than this! As always, thank you for your support! VIDEO One of the most common requests that I receive from both blog readers and nutrition clients is ideas for simple, on-the-go snacks . A lot of us (myself included) are often rushing from one activity to another – shuttling kids to school, commuting to work, or cruising around town running errands – so it’s not always easy to eat well, but if there’s a will, there’s a way! And now that the New Year is here and healthy...
