The Entrepreneurial Spirit: Making an Impact As a Primal Health Coach

Image
In a newsletter last week , I shared the impetus behind the creation of the Primal Health Coach Institute , the world’s first ancestral health coaching school, and teased you with the promise of motivational success stories to come. Well, today’s the day to feel inspired as we see just how many lives a Primal Health Coach education can touch. Most of these coaches were once Mark’s Daily Apple readers like you. They had their own personal health stories and successes and felt the “primal” call to help others. Just as our Paleolithic ancestors traversed the vast terrain, hunting and foraging across continents, Primal Health Coach Institute graduates are branching out into many areas…from restaurant owners to clinicians…from authors to food photographers. Many Primal Health Coaches form their own businesses and go straight into the most traditional route of offering one-on-one in-person coaching; the “private practice” model. Others plan to jump in to the up-and-coming Functi...

Sittin’ On Eggs

My favorite way to eat eggs lately? Via French toast! This was using Great Harvest Cinnamon Chip bread. Oh-so-good! I put some melted pumpkin spice butter (by Land O’Lakes) on top. After missing a few strength classes last week, I was back in the (kettlebell) swing of things. It felt good to get in consistent workouts this week: strength Monday and Wednesday (always the hardest days), Elements Hot Yoga with Thomas on Tuesday, and time outside with Gus on the greenway on Thursday. Today is a wild card! I’ll probably either do yoga or the gym for the stairmaster. Then it’s soccer on Sunday. This sandwich was the best lunch I had this week: turkey, cream cheese, honey mustard, avocado, jalapeños! Oh man, it was perfect toasted! Grapefruit on the side. MY OTHER RECIPES Mazen and I took a trip to Target on Tuesday. He earned 5 Star Wars stickers, which took him months to get. (Each sticker is worth three green popsicle sticks, which are given out for consistent outstanding beh...

What I’m Loving Lately 102

Image
Hi, friends! Happy FRIDAY to you! This week was so strange with two snow days right smack in the middle of it, so it totally doesn’t feel like Friday today. But, hey, I’m not complaining. I’m more than happy to spend some extra quality time with my boys. Although, we don’t have too many plans this weekend (besides the usual Saturday morning “gym day” and iced coffee/donuts), but, hopefully, that will change! So, it’s Friday and you know what that means! It’s time for the next edition of  What I’m Loving Lately . Gabe’s inspiring story – Gabe is a professional runner with Brooks as well as a cancer patient. She was first diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in 2009. At times, she’s been so sick she couldn’t run at all, but she’s gone through periods of remission that allowed her to compete, even winning the 3,000-meter run at US Indoor Nationals in 2014. “Brave Like Gabe” has become the sign-off for Gabe’s story as a cancer patient and professional athlete, and she tru...

Primal Starter: Reframing Your Definition of Affluence

“Gratitude, with a capital G. The word should resonate as holy (which has the same root as healthy, and means whole), for without it, boredom prevails. With it, you acknowledge and appreciate life’s gifts. This embodiment extends beyond your attitude to become an actual personality trait, a stress management took, an an overall way of life. You live in gratitude because you are here today—appreciative of the lessons and journey of your past, however imperfect—for no other particular reason or caveat. And you remain in gratitude through the daily struggles that give meaning and richness to your life. Our ancestors devised animism and deities to thank for the bounties in nature. More recently in our history, tribal societies such as the Native Americans and the !Kung Bushmen of southern Africa thank the animal’s spirit for providing sustenance after it has been killed. If daily prayer or weekly services have a place in your life, you may be familiar with similar themes. But don’t overl...
